Soccer Game #2 (9-23-06)

Here are the ladies after a 3-0 win over the powderpuff girls club team!! This put us in the #1 spot for the U9 league/girls!! We weren't necessarily expected to win. From left to right: Olivia, Autumn, Kaelyn, Grace. Go Orangewood!!!!
On the left side of the picture you can see Kaelyn in action. She is so active that she is practically running out of the picture...look at that stride!! :)
Anticipating the move - trying to avoid her "running out of the picture", I caught her PRE-move...what a nice sillouette... ha ha ha. I will be good at this action shot thing one day.
This is my champion after her first soccer game as an 8 year old!!! Way to go Kaelyn :)!!!! Great game, great hustle, great attitude...mommy was VERY proud!

I TOLD YOU SO.....

Have you ever just wanted to yell that phrase at the top of your lungs??? Wow, I have lately...and to keep from venting in a LONG post - I have waited a few days to write :).

I know I am not a world traveler. I know that I don't speak multiple languages. I know that many people have experienced things that I never will, BUT I do have some common sense and I feel that maybe I have a good idea, you know, on occasion -

For those that have in the past brushed me off and told me that I have no idea what I am talking about...look at yourself now and imagine that I am smiling and saying "I TOLD YOU SO"!!!

Blessings to the rest of you that are polite and kind. Blessings to those that can hold a conversation without trying to better someone else and Blessings to those that understand one person cannot know everything!!

Happy Tuesday!!

9-21-1998

Yesterday was a very BIG day for a little 7 year old who turned 8!!!! Happy Birthday to my precious daughter :)! KAELYN RAQUEL WELBAUM
(Pictures are on the camera and to be posted in the near future)

She enjoyed a birthday dinner and present on Wednesday night and then a party at school and then another birthday dinner and present on Thursday night. One of the benefits of having TWO families...ha ha ha

I just can't believe that she is already 8!!! Wow, how time flies :)

Soccer Game 9-16-06

Okay, so the first picture is of Kaelyn "cooling off"! Do you see the wet rag on her head? She is the 3rd player on the right - closest to the coaches wife...

This was at the beginning of the game - look close you can see the tape on her ears!!

The other team had the habit of kicking the ball out of bounds A LOT...this is one of those times - another time to throw the ball in....waiting...

Kaelyn has a great coach and the team has a lot of respect for him. Here are the girls listening for their "next assignment"!! :)
We are nearing the end of the game. Kaelyn in the background and her friend Beth Lu in the front. The girls have been running hard and are relaxing in the back field.

The Orangewood Rams win 9-0!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Water Water Everywhere....

Well, if you are wondering why there are no pictures of Kaelyn's 1st soccer game...it is because there wasn't a first soccer game. (that game rescheduled for 9/30)
With all the rain that we had last week - the Saturday game was cancelled on Friday because the fields were flooded.

WE WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS THIS WEEK! Keep your fingers crossed!

Effort Made...

Okay, so I followed the "nice" route AGAIN. I don't know if it mattered in the long run, but it won't be weighing on my shoulders.

Finally a weekend. Only 72 more minutes of work!! :)

How much effort is too much?

Okay.
So, it is the end of Thursday and I am sitting here at the office wondering how much effort is too much effort?
Are there actually times when being nice is not necessary? Can you actually inquire about a topic in order to plan a niceness and actually be going TOO far?

I ask about a scheduled time for departure in order to give myself time to say "goodbye" and instead I get a smart answer...do I care to say goodbye that much? Do I still put in the effort?

Sitting here the answer is NO, but the "good karma / unselfish" part of me is trying to win.

Why, when you are willing to go out of your way to do someone else a niceness - do you get burned?

I can understand why more and more people are becoming synical and uncaring...why make the effort!!!

Okay, I am sure that when Friday arrives and I am looking the weekend in the face I will feel better - but for now venting was really nice.
Thanks for listening.
